# BuildNotch changelog

Canonical page: https://www.buildnotch.app/changelog/

## 1.2.0 — October 2026

A cleaner clipboard, a smaller notch option, custom wallpapers, JSON formatting, and AI usage you can read at a glance.

### New

- **Fullscreen app controls.** Chrome is the only app that changes notch visibility by default. Other apps stay visible; choose per-app fullscreen hide rules in Settings.
- **A smaller notch.** Choose Short under Settings → General to make the collapsed notch narrower.
- **JSON formatting inside the notch.** Open Developer tools → Format to pretty-print or minify JSON, then copy the result. Invalid JSON shows where parsing failed.
- **Custom notch wallpapers.** Choose an image in Settings → Appearance for the expanded notch. BuildNotch dims it so the controls stay readable.

### Improved

- **Clipboard history is easier to browse.** Filter text, links, code, and images in a grid that wraps into more rows. Open a clip to see a focused preview, then copy it again or remove it. Images fit inside the preview.
- **AI usage is easier to scan.** Compact provider rings show remaining usage. Select one to see the available usage windows, reset information, and plan details. Choose which providers appear.
## 1.1.0 — September 2026

More control over your workspace, a place to hold files, and a clearer view of your AI tools. This update also tightens the parts you use every day.

### New

- **Choose your widgets.** Show or hide dashboard cards in Settings → Appearance. Hidden cards keep their position when you bring them back.
- **A temporary file tray.** Drop in files, see their names and thumbnails, then export or drag them out when you need them. Removing a tray copy does not delete the original file.
- **AI usage in the notch.** Open a dedicated view for supported signed-in tools, with separate usage windows and reset times when a provider supplies them. Manage which providers appear; unavailable data is marked as unavailable.
- **More focus timer looks.** Pick a timer style that fits your desk, from clean and quiet to pixel and terminal inspired views.

### Improved

- **Editing your layout feels more direct.** Widgets gently jiggle in Edit mode, lift while you drag, and settle when you release them. The motion stops outside Edit mode and respects reduced animation settings.
- **Music is easier to scan.** The media card gives artwork, track details, playback controls, and progress their own clear places.
- **AI readings are easier to trust.** Usage appears as each source responds, with a last reading time. A disconnected provider no longer looks like it has used 0% of its allowance.
- **Clipboard history is easier to manage.** Remove entries you no longer need from inside the notch.

### On the website

- **A closer look at the app.** The homepage now shows more of the actual widgets, and the demo gives you a quicker feel for the workspace.
- **Clearer buying and privacy controls.** The download guidance explains where to find your installer, and you can choose whether to accept optional cookies.
